Family Prayer Outline
Note; this is your family prayer time so you can alter this outline to meet your family needs.
Opening Prayer
All of the members of your family can take turns saying the opening prayer. It is a good way to teach the younger ones that the always ask in Jesus name as Jesus teaches. (John 16:26)
Praise Reports
Each person in the family shares what good has happened to them that day, as a praise to God for the good things. This is a great way to develop openness and learn about each other. Definitely this is not a time to criticize our make judgmental statements.
Promise Time
Making the words of Jesus from Mark 12:30-31 in to a promise prayer. "Dear God I, promise to love You with all my heart, soul mind and strength and to love my neighbor as I love my self, thank You for helping accomplish this promise in Jesus name, amen."
Prayer Time
Say together the prayer Jesus taught us to pray: Our Father in heaven, May Your holy name be honored; May Your kingdom come, May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Please give us today our daily bread. Please forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who offend us. Please don't bring us into temptation and rescue us from the evil one, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever, amen.
Bible Time
Take turns reading a bible verse each day and the person reading it can share what it means to them. It can be good to read the red-letter verses of what Jesus says. If someone understands the verse differently, you can share your opinion but be careful not to put down the other person's view.
Prayer Time
Offer to pray for each other's prayer concerns. Remember not to criticize or judge other's prayer concerns. If you are unsure, you can always pray for God's will to be done in that situation.
Closing Prayer
Take turns praying the closing prayer.
