Thanking Jesus

We thank God when our prayers are answered because we prayed to God, in Jesus "NAME" Jn 16:26. Jesus thanked God as His prayer was being answered saying, "FATHER, I THANK YOU …" Jn 11:41. Normally we praise and thank God frequently however occasionally we can thank Jesus. The following are some of the ways we can thank Jesus. (Notice how often Jesus mentions obedience.)

Thanking Jesus

Thank You Jesus, for revealing your Father to me.

"ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN COMMITTED TO ME BY MY FATHER. NO ONE KNOWS WHO THE SON IS EXCEPT THE FATHER, AND NO ONE KNOWS WHO THE FATHER IS EXCEPT THE SON AND THOSE TO WHOM THE SON CHOOSES TO REVEAL HIM" Lk 10:22 (NI)

Thank You Jesus, for loving me.

"THIS IS MY COMMAND: LOVE EACH OTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU. THE GREATEST LOVE A PERSON CAN SHOW IS TO DIE FOR HIS FRIENDS. YOU ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU DO WHAT I COMMAND YOU." Jn 15:12-14 (IC)

Thank You Jesus, for being in me

"BECAUSE I LIVE, YOU WILL LIVE, TOO. ON THAT DAY YOU WILL KNOW THAT I AM IN MY FATHER. YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN ME AND I AM IN YOU. HE WHO KNOWS MY COMMANDS AND OBEYS THEM IS THE ONE WHO LOVES ME." Jn 14:19-21 (IC)

Thank You Jesus, for praying for me.

"I PRAY FOR THEM. I DO NOT PRAY FOR THE WORLD BUT FOR THOSE WHOM YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, FOR THEY ARE YOURS." Jn 17:9 (NKJ)

"I DO NOT PRAY THAT YOU SHOULD TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WORLD, BUT THAT YOU SHOULD KEEP THEM FROM THE EVIL ONE." Jn 17:15 (NKJ)

"I DO NOT PRAY FOR THESE ALONE, BUT ALSO FOR THOSE WHO WILL BELIEVE IN ME THROUGH THEIR WORD; THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE, AS YOU, FATHER, ARE IN ME, AND I IN YOU; THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE ONE IN US, THAT THE WORLD MAY BELIEVE THAT YOU SENT ME." Jn 17:20-21 (NKJ)

Thank You Jesus, for Your peace so I will have no worries or fears.

"PEACE IS WHAT I LEAVE WITH YOU; IT IS MY OWN PEACE THAT I GIVE YOU. I DO NOT GIVE IT AS THE WORLD DOES. DO NOT BE WORRIED AND UPSET; DO NOT BE AFRAID". Jn 14:27 (GN)

"I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS, SO THAT IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE. BUT TAKE HEART! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD" Jn 16:33 (NI)

Thank You Jesus, for Your joy.

"IF YOU OBEY MY COMMANDS, YOU WILL REMAIN IN MY LOVE, JUST AS I HAVE OBEYED MY FATHER'S COMMANDS AND REMAIN IN HIS LOVE. I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS SO THAT MY JOY MAY BE IN YOU AND THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE COMPLETE." Jn 15:10-11 (NI)

Thank You Jesus, for setting me free with the truth.

"IF YOU CONTINUE TO OBEY MY TEACHING, YOU ARE TRULY MY FOLLOWERS. THEN YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH. AND THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE." Jn 8:31-32 (IC)

Thank You Jesus for giving me authority to overcome everything that could harm or hurt me, including everything that stings or bites, all poison, the desires of my flesh, all power of the enemy, everything.

"I HAVE GIVEN YOU AUTHORITY TO TRAMPLE ON SNAKES AND SCORPIONS AND TO OVERCOME ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY; NOTHING WILL HARM YOU." Lk 10:19 (NI)

"BELIEVERS … WILL DRIVE OUT DEMONS IN MY NAME … IF THEY PICK UP SNAKES OR DRINK ANY POISON, THEY WILL NOT BE HARMED" Mk 16:17-18 (GN)

Thank You Jesus, for setting me free from sin, both physical and mental.

"EVERYONE WHO SINS IS A SLAVE TO SIN … IF THE SON SETS YOU FREE, YOU WILL BE FREE INDEED" Jn 8:34-35 (NI)

Thank You Jesus for telling me that I can do what You did and more.

"THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN ME WILL DO THE SAME WORKS I DO--YES, THEY WILL DO EVEN MORE WORKS, BECAUSE I AM GOING TO THE FATHER. Jn 14:12 (ET)

Thank You Jesus, for giving me eternal life.

"THE FATHER HAS GIVEN THE SON THE POWER TO JUDGE BECAUSE HE IS THE SON OF MAN." Jn 5:27 (IC)

"YOU GAVE THE SON POWER OVER ALL PEOPLE SO THAT THE SON COULD GIVE ETERNAL LIFE TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE YOU HAVE GIVEN TO HIM." Jn 17:2 (IC)

"THOSE WHO HEAR MY WORDS AND BELIEVE IN HIM WHO SENT ME HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. THEY WILL NOT BE JUDGED, BUT HAVE ALREADY PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE" Jn 5:24 (GN)

Consider including thanking Jesus in your daily prayers.

Understanding the Teaching: What I share in the teaching is what I believe God wants me to share. All the direct quotes from God are highlighted in royal purple. Of course the words of Jesus are in red. Rather than follow some made up doctrine, remember that Jesus said that every thing He said (Jn 12:49) and everything He did (Jn 14:31) comes from God. All teachings and all opinions should be supported by what we learn from God or Jesus (see the scripture referred to in the footnote). MARRIAGE WORKSHOP MOMENT

One of the first things that is overlooked in marriages is having fun. Too busy, children, work etc. can crowd out fun time together. In marriage you will have conflicts but that is not what attracted you to each other in the beginning. Fun is important to martial happiness. Have a weekly date night. So you enjoy date, be sure and have your weekly couples meeting before, using the Speaker Listener Technique. This should help you get issues and problems out of the way so your time together on your date can be more enjoyable. Your date can be as simple as a walk in the park or walking in the mall window-shopping. Do something different. Go skiing, water or snow depending on the weather.

One suggestion Allen age 10 had for a good marriage: "you got to find someone who likes the same stuff. Like if you like sports, she should like that you like sports and she should keep the chips and dip coming."

I do Marathons and my wife walks on treadmills. We have done treadmills side by side at the gym. We have shared by her going with me to out of town Marathons and she helps by driving me home, like from Memphis and Kansas City. After 26.2 miles, it is wonderful to have driving help. Our Marathon trips are like having a two-day date. There are many ways to share and have fun together

The Better Half "When your partner won't support your efforts to make your marriage better" Without your spouse's support to improve your marriage, you can still pray daily for God's will to be done in each of your lives and your marriage ("all things are possible with God", Mk 10:27 NI). You can encourage having fun together on your own. Suggest and encourage things you both like to do or to get things started suggest things your spouse likes to do. Remember the things you did to have fun when you first got together. In marriage you will have conflicts but that is not what attracted you to each other in the beginning. Fun is important to martial happiness. Work at it! When a spouse calls "time out", it is an opportunity for a couple to calm down before continuing the conversation at a later time (anywhere from an hour to no later than the next day) using the Speaker Listener Technique. Initially after calling time out it is an opportunity to take authority over the enemy and pray for the marriage. Example: "In the name of Jesus I command you demons to shut up and leave our marriage and not return" "Thank you God for helping our marriage be in Your will and guiding us in our relationship, in Jesus name, amen." When a spouse will not cooperate, you can still take authority over the enemy and pray for your marriage.
